Conservation and Land Use 101 Webinar Series: Conservation Advisory Councils and Boards

September 25, 2019 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

Conservation Advisory Councils and Boards

Conservation advisory councils (CACs) and boards (CBs) play a central role in local government on matters related to the environment. CACs and CBs help to inventory natural areas and resources, research and develop land use policy, assist planning and zoning boards with reviewing land-use proposals, advance local climate action, and engage and educate the public. Following a general overview, guest CAC and CB leaders will present case studies and discuss best practices for cultivating an effective advisory role. Presenter: Ingrid Haeckel, Hudson River Estuary Program, and guests Carla Castillo (Town of Cornwall), Julie Noble (City of Kingston), and Carolynn Sears (Town of Pound Ridge).
